Level 5 Diploma in Business (L5DB)
The New Level 5 Diploma in Business is a regulated qualification and the second stage of the NCC Education Business Degree journey. It is also recognised and approved for funding in England as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ).
Equivalent to the second year of a UK business degree, this programme builds on Level 4 and explores advanced topics such as entrepreneurship, innovation and growth, raising finance, agile leadership, business ethics, and global policy impacts. It provides a strong academic and practical framework, preparing students for progression to the final year of a UK honours degree or a successful career in global business.
Course Overview
The NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Business (L5DB) builds on the foundation of the Level 4 Diploma in Business (L4DB), taking students deeper into advanced business concepts and practices.
This programme introduces key areas such as entrepreneurship and start-up strategy, innovation and growth, raising finance and capital law, agile leadership, business ethics, and global policy impacts. Blending academic theory with real-world application, it equips students with the skills to thrive in today’s dynamic business environment.
Designed to prepare learners for the next stage of their academic or professional journey, the qualification offers flexibility and global recognition.
On completion, students can Progress to the final year of a UK honours degree at one of many universities that recognise NCC Education qualifications, Enter the third year of selected international degree programmes or Launch or advance a career in the global business industry.
Approved by Skills England as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ).

Entry Requirements
- NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES), Level 3 Diploma in Business (L3DB) or Level 3 Diploma in Computing (L3DC).
OR
- An international qualification which is deemed to be of a similar level to the NCC Education L3IFDHES or L3DB qualification. This shall be agreed with NCC Education in advance.
OR
- One ‘A’ Level or equivalent, or an appropriate School Leavers’ certificate deemed to be of a similar level
If a potential student’s first language is not English, they must also reach the English Language requirements of either:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score of 5.5. Alternatively, take the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test, which is administered by our Accredited Partner Centres.
OR
- GCE ‘O’ Level English C6.
Mature applicants will be considered for entry if they are able to demonstrate over 2 years of relevant work experience; AND Have GCE ‘O’ Level / IGCSE English and Maths or equivalent.

Accreditation Status
NCC Education is accredited to award the Level 5 Diploma in Business by Ofqual and Qualifications Wales (QiW).
The Level 5 Diploma in Business is an officially recognised Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) by Skills England. * HTQ recognition applies to England learners only.

Assessments for all units are offered in a number of assessment cycles throughout the year. All units are assessed by either examination or assignments.
